A fire and explosion destroyed the existing refinery and newly installed equipment as part of the expansion. Our engagement focused on analyzing the delay period associated with this incident to determine the impact on the project schedule and the necessary time to repair and rebuild the damaged structures and equipment.
Our team developed an independent schedule and damages model based on the post-incident scope and productivity factors. This model allowed us to accurately assess the time needed to restore refinery operations to the conditions before the incident. By identifying the delays caused by the fire and explosion, we provided crucial insights into the timeline for completing the project and mitigating further disruptions.
