LEER MÁSOur experts were requested to perform a fungal contamination assessment at a private residential home in Fresno, California. After moving into the home, a young child in the family experienced repeated fungal infections, resulting in the loss of an ear bone and hearing loss in one ear.
We were engaged to evaluate potential environmental factors within the home that could be associated with the child’s condition.
Our experts conducted a fungal contamination assessment that included interviews, inspection, sampling, and analysis. The scope of work included:
The results identified the presence of the same type of fungus associated with the child's infection in both dust and air samples inside the home. The inspection also identified sources of water intrusion and associated fungal growth.
Based on these findings, our experts recommended that the family vacate the property until repairs could be completed.
