Theresa Chimento is the Operations Director for the United States within the Environmental, Health & Safety division of J.S. Held LLC. She brings over 19 years of experience as an environmental consultant, having led complex projects involving disaster response, environmental assessment, design, and project management. Her work spans a wide range of catastrophic events, including flooding, hurricanes, fires, and wind damage, as well as large-scale construction and rehabilitation projects involving hazardous materials.
Theresa is recognized for her expertise in industrial hygiene, having conducted comprehensive evaluations of indoor air quality, air monitoring, noise and light surveys, and exposure assessments for chemical hazards. Her technical proficiency extends to regulatory compliance, including the preparation of Environmental Assessment Checklists and reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act.
In addition to her consulting work, Theresa has provided expert support in appraisal and litigation contexts. She has delivered deposition testimony and developed expert reports and presentations for cases involving mold contamination and remediation, contributing to the resolution of complex environmental claims.
Theresa holds a Master of Public Health with an emphasis in Disaster Management from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Evansville.
